it allows to recover partition table or any data on the disk ,disk clean up

-> gparted live disk
It allows you to create partition table ,and choosing of filesystems such as NTFS,FAT32,exFAT,ext4,ext3........

Files getting disapeared ??

In present days it has been observed that many of the removable drives (pen drives, memory cards) when removed from some of the systems ,the files in it gets disappeared but the properties of the drive shows some size is occupied by the files . u can recover the disappeared files by opening computer , then opening the removable disk drive and typing *.* in the search box .The files will be displayed and select all the files ,cut and paste the files in the removable disk drive location.
Refer below if u want to know why it happens
The files which appeared to be disappeared were moved to a folder named space (which can be obtained by typing Alt+255 or Alt + 0160) which is different from space generated by pressing space bar(This space cannot be used to name a folder as folder name doesn't contain spaces) and the graphical view of folder usually yellow is changed to white which in turn makes the folder invisible.Finally, u are typing *.* in the search bcoz * is a wildcard character which stands for multiple characters in windows platform

->click on OK ,OK and status of connecting to the server is displayed over there .Make sure that in status "Successfully connected to server is displayed " else click retry

->Now open the browser u want and enter the proxy settings as  127.0.0.1 in ipaddress or http proxy  and port as 9666  .......click ok .Now u can enjoy the freedom of browsing..

Fast start-up is achieved in Windows 8 and the impact of fast start up when window8 is dual boot with other os say ubuntu ?

How  fast start-up is achieved in Windows 8  and impact of fast start up when window8 is dual booted with ubuntu ?
 Fast start-up  (also called ‘hybrid boot’), which is based on the ‘hibernation’ feature that came with older versions of Windows. ‘Hybrid boot’ lets Windows 8 to boot really fast, and it is also enabled automatically when you shut down your computer too.
Hibernation feature just places the data on RAM on to the harddisk drive before shutting down.This results in a significant reduction in startup time. It’s faster because resuming the hibernated system session is comparatively less work than doing a full system
initialization.This is the reason why hibernation option is not seen on power menu.
   However when windows 8 is dual boot with say ubuntu os, after shutting down Windows 8, if the next time you boot into Ubuntu and tried to access Windows 8′s OS partition, then it will give you a warning saying that, that partition is hibernated etc and won’t let you mount it.
   This problem can be solved by either of the ways
--->Disable Turn on fast start up (search for power options > choose what the power buttons do on the left >click on change settings that are currently unavailable >uncheck the Turn on fast start up ......u can aslo turn ON the Hibernation to be shown on the power menu
--->press and hold the ‘Shift’ key while choosing ‘Shut down’ in Windows 8 as this too disables the ‘fast start-up’ for that session.
--->You can reboot back to Windows 8 and then choose ‘Restart’ as when restarting, Windows 8 automatically disables the so called ‘fast start-up’ feature.(This is the reason why restart in windows takes moretime to boot)
--->you can change a setting in Ubuntu so it will manually remove the ‘hiberfile.sys’ file on the OS partition, thus enabling you to access its data with read-write permissions.

Does system slow down or struck when playing games ???

Does ur system slow down or struck when playing games on battery power as compared to system connected to external power supply ?
Do u know why ?
It is due to the fact that the system's power and bios settings decrease the clock speed to increase the battery life and performance and if there are 2 GPU's (Intel on-board graphics and any other graphic card ),then the system on battery tend to use Intel on-board graphics as much as possible....
Of course , u can change the bios settings to increase the clock speed and to use both graphic cards but it may overheat the components ,decrease its life cycle and may void warranty.(over clocking is not recommended)

you have made a full scan and deleted the virus , but the files that were on the disk does not get appeared and the properties of the disk or system shows some size is occupied by the files. u may think up of getting a restoring software and restore the files but before getting the restoring software just try this :
->open the any disk , pen drive locations
->In the search box ,type  *.jpeg or *.jpg  or *.mp3 or *.3gp  and  it can be any format of the file which u think would exist in that drive
case 1:
->If the files that were not displayed before appears in the search , then right click the file and select open location
->select all the files in that location and move them to another location
case 2: go to tools> folder options  >view >show hidden files

naming a file/ folder with a space as its name

Ever you thought of naming a file/ folder with a space as its name?
yup...u may have tried it, but all in vain.
Here is the way u can try it out
->Right click the file and select Rename
->press ALT+0160 (If this doesn't work press ALT+Fn +0160 )
(Remember to keep the ALT button pressed down while typing the numbers).
This is allowed bcoz ALT+0160 makes a space that is not the same as a normal space.

The need of portable apps

Do u have more than one computer and don't want to buy multiple licences for the softwares  for each computer  or  need to open ur files on other systems but the other system has no required software to open the same file ???
yup.........u can do it by creating a portable copy of ur installed software,which does not need to be installed in each computer.A portable application is that which does not leave its files or settings on the host computer,does not write to the Windows registry or store its configuration files (such as an INI file) in the user's profile; bcoz of which, it does not require administrative privileges for running.Instead, it stores its configuration files in the program's directory. A common technique for such programs is the use of a launcher program to copy necessary settings and files to the host computer when the application starts and move them back to the application's directory when it closes.

There are many softwares available by which u can create the portable apps for  apps installed in ur system or download the ready made portable apps from the internet, which can be carried in any flash drives or pendrives, memory cards..........

Are u worried that ur system runs very slow at some times?

u are also sure that ur antivirus is updated and the system is fully scanned , the system configuration is good enough but the system runs slow.This may be due to the fact that system runs a system maintenance utility which is actually set as a default to run periodically which usually uses most of the % of the disk. No doubt that it may slow ur system to some extent when it runs , but helps ur system to run in efficient way after the maintenance is complete. The main work of system maintenance utility is De fragmentation (When u delete /move some files in hard disks usually some of the space of the deleted location is left unused and De fragmentation combines all these unused spaces which in turn increases access speed by rearranging files stored on a disk to occupy contiguous storage ................

Is the size of the RAM(usually in 4GB or above capacity RAM) that is seen in your system properties is less than the actual size?
It may be due to the reason that u have installed 32 bit version os
instead of 64 bit os in 64 bit processor system.Usually, the 32 bit os 's adressing system is such that it limits the usable size of the RAM and that usable part of the RAM is actually seen in system properties

It can be done with the help of usb drive as follows:
1. Plug in the usb drive into ur system
2.Right click the usb drive and click on the ready boost
3.click on use this device

shutdown vs Hibernate

  Shutdown completely c loses the open documents and programs and turns off the computer.
               Hibernation is a power-saving state designed primarily for laptops.It  puts your open documents and programs on your hard disk, and then turns off your computer.use hibernation when you know that you won't use your laptop for an longer  period and won't have an opportunity to charge the battery during that time  and this helps in faster booting up the system
              The only negative effect that I'm aware of  hibernating is that it places more locked clusters on the partition, thus using more space and increasing fragmentation.

Dual boot problems??

Problems with dual booting??
1)promting u to insert another disk which says x86 or x64 architecture?? Then, restart the system and run the disc from boot mode by press boot/ setup keys (F2,F12,Esc etc depends on the laptop u use, usually the above keys to be pressed are displayed on the screen for very short time) and select the boot from cd/dvd/usb and select the language,followed by selecting the drive(Be sure that selected drive is of primary partition as os cannot be installed in logical portion)
2)set up is not installing sucessfully, then change sata mode (ie ATA,AHCI) or enable the legacy mode

Are the icons of various programs are not getting displayed correctly,and different programs get opened when u click on other programs ,and the system always asks for, with which program you want the file to be opened ,and finally you are not left with any proper restore point??
Here is the way you can try it out ,
Go to control panel, select user accounts and create a new account(administrator account preferred) and delete the old account(optional) and now restart the system and would to take sometime in checking your disk, now are your system is ready to use.
Moreover,I would suggest you check that whether you have the turned ON the option create a restore point,if not ON it.
This restore point may be available with all anti-virus softwares but i am not sure .
In one of the anti-virus software (say Microsoft security essentials)
you can turn ON the restore point option by following the following steps
click on the settings tab and then advanced options
and check (tick it) the create a system restore point
and finally click on the save changes button

Is ur system takes more time to access some files?
Have u are using hard disk for longtime and there are multiple deletions and saving of the files on the same disk which may lead to the slow access of the files ??
Here is the way u can overcome this problem of slow access of files
Right click on the drive for which u want to defragment
and then click on the tools tab and select optimize option and then click on the analyse

Is the actual size of the file and size on the disk is different? and is your system takes more time to open  files stored on the disk , this may be due to the fact that you have multiple deletions on the same disk ,which creates some memory free space that affect the others files to be stored with some other size than the actual
This can be overcome by optimizing the drive
steps:
Right click on the drive for which u want to optimize
and then click on the tools tab and select optimize option and then click on the analyse and takes some time in optimizing,fragmenting,defragmenting.
However , the system optimizes the drive periodically (usually the time for the periodic optimization should be set by the user)

Do u want to change the partition of hard drives without formatting???

Here is the way,
1)Right click the my computer and select manage>>computer management >>storage >>Disk Management
2)Right click any of the drive and select shrink volume to make the some of the space of the selected drive to be unallocated or select Extend volume to extend the size of the selected drive if there is already unallocated space
3)you can now allocate the unallocated space to a new drive by right clicking it , selecting New simple volume and followed by assigning the drive letter

using softwares with only keyboard

In any of the soft wares of windows ,if u want to use it with the only keyboard, then you can press alt and underlined letter say in the microsoftword 'F' is underlined for FILE ,so u should press ALT & F keys simultaneously, but in the latest versions letter is not underlined & the letter say F for File menu gets displayed when u press Alt as shown in screen shot
